Jesus, Shakespeare, and Lincoln Walk into a Bar
KC Fringe Festival

After seeing this production, I needed to walk into a bar.

I am an avid theatre-goer in KC and though this was my first year attending Fringe shows I was excited to see what KC had to offer for Fringe!  I bought my button, tickets and couldn't wait to get started.  JESUS, SHAKESPEARE, AND LINCOLN WALK INTO A BAR was the 3rd show I've seen so far and by the WORST.

It was poorly written, poorly directed, and poorly acted.  When I could actually understand the words that were coming out of JESUS, SHAKESPEARE, and LINCOLN I didn't find them funny, witty, or interesting.  I have described it to others as a bad high school one act...but worse.

Fart jokes, a stoned Jesus, and a gay Lincoln are not what I expect to see when I pay $10 for a production on the Unicorn stage.  I just hope people don't associate this production with the kind of theatre that the Unicorn does, because they are worlds apart.   Had this production been in a larger space where I could have escaped easily, I would have.

Out of the 50+ productions I have seen in KC this year this is the only one that has caused me to create an account on here just so I could warn people to NOT waste their Fringe time on this show.
