The KC Fringe Festival has named Brent Kimmi as it's new Development Director. Brent has been a volunteer for the festival since its inception in 2004. In his eight years with the festival, he's worked in almost every capacity of the event including artist liaison, planning, administrative support and event execution.

"As an all volunteer run festival, I'm in awe of the passion I'm surrounded by at the KC Fringe--from artists, volunteers and audiences. I believe this festival is essential to the cultural soul of Kansas City. My goal is to make the KC Fringe financially sustainable so we can produce uncensored art for many years to come."

With an interest in Arts Administration, Brent found that volunteering in the arts not-for-profit was critical to understanding the organization's economic challenges.

"Every day in the Fringe office we troubleshoot the logistics of getting artists the best venues, technical support, and promotion so they can focus on their performances. These are operational costs that need to be covered."

Brent has been involved personally in theater and the arts since he was a child. He is currently a student at the University of Kansas earning a degree in Communications Studies and a member of the KU Ultimate Frisbee Team.
