KC Fringe "Storms Beneath Her Skin" review by alanskoalas

Therapy for the performer without entertainment for the audience
Rating: 2

Storms Beneath Her Skin
KC Fringe Festival

This is a show in which the "entertainer" takes you on a journey through her thought processes as a transgender male to female. Rebecca has not yet had the final gender reassignment surgery and appears undecided as to whether (s)he will take that final step. Her story about her issues was very interesting, but not much different than what she said in her other show last year. I get the sense that the audience serves as a "group therapy" session for Rebecca. I do not view Rebecca as an "entertainer" or "artist." Although very interesting, I do not believe this is a "show" that belongs in the Fringe Festival.
