KC Fringe "Lessons from Marlene" review by SwizzleStick

Lessons from Marlene
KC Fringe Festival

Katie Kalahurka is crazy talented and full of great energy but her show, "Lessons From Marlene", fails to harness her riches in a successful way. Nonetheless, the actress gets to play many different characters and a couple of them are quite amusing. Her song as an Irish lass who committed suicide is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever heard and is worth the effort to see this show.

Her impersonation of Marlene Dietrich, however, is very weak and needs a lot more work. Since it is the central part of the show, this really bogs things down.
