In 2007, filmmaker Patrick Rea was discussing his next potential feature, “Nailbiter,” with an industry friend. “I remember him giving me the advice, ‘I think you’re five years out from this movie being done,’ ” Rea recalls. “I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ But he was 100 percent right.”
