KC Symphony, Garrick Ohlsson review by Libby Hanssen

The Kansas City Symphony presented a program imbued with nationalist sentiment Friday night. With pianist Garrick Ohlsson, the orchestra featured selections of symphonic repertoire that sourced vernacular idioms, anchoring the concert on George Gershwin’s ever-popular “Rhapsody in Blue” for a sold-out weekend in Helzberg Hall.
