Two seasons ago, trumpeter and bandleader Wynton Marsalis brought
his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to help the Harriman-Jewell Series
pop the cork in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Later this year, Marsalis and his outfit will make their fifth
appearance on the series, this time presenting the rare opportunity to
hear his extended composition “Abyssinian: A Gospel Celebration,” which
combines the jazz propulsion of his band with a 70-voice choir, the
Chorale Le Chateau, conducted by Damien Sneed.
