Fringe Festival "Tallahassee" review by Reviewasaurus

Tallahassee
KC Fringe Festival

Fringe Festival at it's finest if you ask me. Here's a story, told in kind of a pop opera style (I'd call it a musical, but it was all music, all singing, so, opera it is.), about an excessively dysfunctional couple, that begin their life together with hope and beautiful expectation, and have nowhere to go from there.

Starting with the music. The music was solid, with Vocals by Cody Wyoming on guitars, and Director Stephanie Roberts on percussion. The cast, Vanessa Severo and Patrick Du Laney, gave incredibly emotional performances, handling their vocals wonderfully. No pitchiness, no awkward phrasing, and when all sang together, the harmonies were perfect and wonderful.

"But Reviewasaurus," you ask. "Were there any problems?"

Nope. This production was great. I only gave it a four out of five because I wanted to understand things better, thematically. I kind of got the jest of it, but it's worth a second watch to get the details.

Check it out. Another fine production at The MET.
