My Inner Catholic Girl

I really enjoyed this show! I was lucky enough to wrap up a great Saturday at Fringe and the Unicorn after seeing Goodbye Kansas and Head. There were parts of it that had me rolling and parts that made my inner Catholic girl squirm.
"Stella Blue" opened the show with a very powerful and satirical Man's World by the king of Soul. I thought it was an interesting choice after the pre-show music had just played Woman is the N of the world, but hey, who doesn't like little politics with their burlesque? She also gave a fun performance as Delilah later in the show, with what seemed to be a little wardrobe malfunction, but still a fun song and costume.
"Eartha Delights" easily had the most Vegas numbers with Eve and Jezabel. Wonderful costumes, great dancing and fun songs!
"Demi Ophelia" (thank goodness for programs!) performed Salome. I was a little over the story after just seeing Head, but the creepy and funny take on the story of the great seductress was refreshing and well done. A little bit of a cop out in costuming, but maybe an artistic choice to not show boob.
"Lucky Deluxe" Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. Her Mary Magdalene was not a powerful woman, but just another hooker with a dirty mouth. Good game though, and her dance to Jesus Loves Me was a good choice.
"Dolly DeMaul" as the virgin Mary made my toes curl with the inappropriateness of it, but also laugh out loud. I consider it a win-win situation.
"Bijou Merlot" as the Pope seemed a little long, but she was fun to watch and the collection plate was a great idea.
Jesus was a great host with several funny one-liners. The skating could have been better.
I hope this show goes to the Hangover, I want to see it again.
