Richard Harriman, founder and artistic director of the Harriman-Jewell Series, will be remembered at a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, in John Gano Memorial Chapel on the William Jewell College campus. Harriman, 77, passed away July 15 at Liberty Hospital.
The memorial service will be held on the same stage where Harriman presented the world recital debut of opera icon Luciano Pavarotti in 1973. The college-affiliated performing arts series that bears Harriman’s name has presented more than 850 music, theater and dance events over 45 seasons.
