“Slammed!” is the story of our community and of our times. To create this world premiere, the cast and creative team held live interviews with local Kansas Citians who have been deeply affected by the recession and, in turn, bring these voices to the stage. This unique theatrical event illuminates the chaos of change through human stories.
Additional performances now include:

Read the review on this show, which I second: it's great, and this is a must-see!
ReplyDeleteIf you're an artist, or otherwise in engaged in cultural affairs, this show will be of particular interest to YOU. The company used several methods to identify interviewees, the "characters" in this show -- including starting with people they knew. So along with economic experts and laypeople, we find ARTISTS represented well here!
In fact, among the identified interviewees was Cynthia Levine of the Unicorn, who speaks to entertaining effect several times in the course of the show, through an actress who's obviously done some character study: hilarious, and a testimony to Cynthia's healthy sense of humor and public-spiritedness!
So rather than being left out, as we usually are when larger social issues are being discussed, artists and our own economic dilemmas are here very well represented. Don't miss it!
