"Cactus Flower" review by Robert Trussell

Back in the day culture-clash romantic comedies, often depicting older middle-class men involved with young flower-power women, formed a movie sub-genre that wore out its welcome rather quickly. None was more successful than "Cactus Flower," a 1969 film that, in turn, was based on a smash Broadway stage comedy by Abe Burrows. Sad to say, but the Burrows play, like so many other scripts that tried to capture the '60s zeitgeist, now seems hopelessly dated.
