The Unicorn production, directed and choreographed by Nedra Dixon with musical direction by Anthony T. Edwards, is based on the 2006 Broadway musical, which in turn is based on the 1975 documentary. HBO made Grey Gardens into a film in 2009, starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore.
