In order to achieve our mission, the Kansas Arts Commission, along with the National Endowment for the Arts, sponsors education and access programs in conjunction with the NEA’s American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of American Genius.
For Fiscal Year 2011, American Masterpieces Kansas will support public arts and cultural events occurring between January 1, 2011, and June 30, 2011, relating to the Kansas 150 commemoration and featuring works by living or deceased recognized Kansas artists. Only Kansas arts and cultural nonprofit organizations and government agencies receiving Fiscal Year 2011 Operational Support grants are eligible, and projects must include works by recognized Kansas artists.
Applications will be submitted to an advisory panel for funding recommendations. Funding is anticipated to be up to $1,000 per organization and must be matched 1:1.
Objectives:
1. To support Kansas arts and cultural entities that are offering public events to commemorate the Kansas sesquicentennial.
2. To focus attention on the work of outstanding Kansas artists and arts organizations.
Application postmark deadline: April 8, 2010.
