Unicorn "In the Next Room" review by Paul Donovan

The new show at the Unicorn Theater, In the Next Room, is about the Givings family, who live in a Victorian home after the Civil War, around 1880. Edison has recently formed his Edison Electric Light Co., and the Givings home is one of the households that have installed electric lamps. Taking advantage of power to the house, Dr. Givings has just invented the electric vibrator, and he treats women (and occasionally a man) with "hysteria" by using it on them in his office right off the living room.
