City Theatre of Independence "Cinderella" preview by Adrianne DeWeese

Don’t look for the glass slipper in this production of “Cinderella.” Instead, the leading lady wears a sparkly silver sneaker. Instead of a blond 17-year-old girl, the character is a brunette woman in her mid-20s. The director, City Theatre of Independence veteran actor Marcie Ramirez, says she wanted her version of Cinderella, by implication, to at least have earned her associate’s degree before choosing a man.
