Which brings us to Spinning Tree Theatre. The fledgling company incorporated as a nonprofit in Missouri last year and is waiting for approval of its 501c3 status from the IRS. It was founded by artistic director Michael Grayman and managing director Andy Parkhurst, a couple of theater gypsies who spent years on the road before deciding to settle down in Kansas City and start a company.
