KC Symphony "Carmina Burana" rehearsal

Two contrasts in music: Haydn's elegant "Surprise" Symphony contrasts with the bombastic and rowdy Carmina burana by Carl Orff, a celebration of orchestral and choral power with the orchestra, KCS Chorus and soloists. Guest conductor Nicholas McGegan, a favorite of KCS audiences, returns to lead this program with charm and wit. The Kansas City Symphony and Chorus will perform this piece on November 16-18, 2012 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
