Plays that are equally grim and inspiring make up a wide
swath of American drama, but few offer viewing experiences as unique as
Robert Schenkkan’s “The Kentucky Cycle.” The two-part, six-hour
epic has been brought to life in fits and starts by the ever-ambitious
Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre. Part 2 is, like the first part, an
absorbing journey for theatergoers, who are helped along by some
exceptional performances.
