Kansas Ballet Academy opens in Topeka

The Metropolitan Ballet of Topeka has a new home, and Shawnee County has a new ballet studio. Stephanie Heston, a professional ballerina whose dance training began in Topeka, has returned home with her husband, Russian-born ballet dancer Alexander Smirnov, to own and operate the Kansas Ballet Academy.
