Bernadette Peters was sellin’, and I was buyin’. So were the vast majority of viewers who turned out Saturday night for Peters’ concert at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. I wasn’t surprised when they rewarded her with a standing ovation because we’re famous in KC for our propensity to stand and cheer for anyone from out of town. But in this case the applause was deserved.
