For an artistic individual, life tends to hold the unmapped
complexity of a John Cage arrangement, rather than the organized,
logical progression of a Philip Glass score. Like Crockett Johnson's
Harold, a creative soul takes up his or her purple crayon and scribbles
the notes of his or her song on life's walls. Singer-pianist Audra
Sergel has created her life's opus with her own purple crayon, following
her passion for music through teaching and performing in Columbia.
