Leota Elder remembers a moment when the presentation of Handel’s “Messiah” looked completely entwined with her family’s genetics. Mrs. Elder and her husband, Don, had long been part of the annual Palm Sunday recital in Northeast Kansas. Their children became part of the choral ensemble as part of a natural order.
