UMKC "Devil Inside" review by jclarkin
A Devil Inside
A Devil Inside was one of my favorite theatre experiences of the year. All of the cast members perfectly conveyed the complexity and craziness of their characters. Antonio Jerron Glass' portrayal of Brad was especially engrossing. His ability to convey the range of emotions simmering inside this "boring" man and his mastery of the physical comedy required of the role were superb. The stagecraft; set, lighting and sound; and the setting in Studio 116 were perfect for this production. The slow descent of the story, the characters and the theatre itself into macabre, hilarious chaos punctuated by wild dogs, encroaching trash and melodramatic violence is a journey I will not soon forget.
