Shay Estes, Fado Novato interview by Michael Mackie

Formed as a result of an argument, Fado Novato unites three Kansas City musicians--Shay Estes, Beau Bledsoe and Jordan Shipley--on a journey to learn and perform Fado, a form of Portuguese folk music that arose from Lisbon's urban neighborhoods. Estes, the group's vocalist, tells us about the style of music the trio once described as "the saddest music in the world."
