During intermission at the Wednesday night performance of “Noel and Gertie,” an evocative show depicting the long friendship between Noel Coward and Gertrude Lawrence, a local theater professional I was chatting with confided that he had seen this show when Quality Hill Playhouse staged it the first time in 1998. Same cast, same director. And he remembered very little about it. He echoed my own experience, because I saw that ’98 production too, and the best I could conjure were some pretty hazy memories.
