Musica Vocale "Membra Jesu Nostra" preview by Patrick Neas

In 1705 the 20-year-old Johann Sebastian Bach walked 250 miles from Arnstadt to Lubeck, Germany, to hear Dietrich Buxtehude play the organ. Unfortunately, most people don’t know why Bach was such a fan. Buxtehude’s music is rarely heard in concert, and there aren’t a lot of recordings. Arnold Epley and his ensemble Musica Vocale will introduce Buxtehude’s greatness to Kansas City with the Lenten oratorio “Membra Jesu Nostra” on March 17 at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral.
