The members of the Harlem String Quartet smiled in astonished
admiration during their occasional breaks Saturday at the Gem Theater.
Along with the capacity audience of about 500, the foursome were awed by
the virtuosic performances of Gary Burton and Chick Corea. The
staggeringly beautiful concert ushered in the new season of the American
Jazz Museum’s Jammin’ at the Gem series.
