Spontaneity, versatility and virtuosity are the qualities of a great jazz artist. That’s what Stefon Harris and Blackout brought to the Gem Theater on Friday night for the Jammin’ at the Gem series, the culminating event for the American Jazz Museum’s 18th & Vine Jazz Festival and celebrating jazz education. Of an audience of about 300, roughly one-third were under 18 years old.
