Music Theatre for Young People "13" preview

Music Theatre for Young People will present Jason Robert Brown's Broadway musical "13" on Friday, June 18th and Saturday, June 19th at Avila University's Goppert Theatre. Showtimes are 7:30PM. Tickets are available at the door and cost $15 ($10 for students). This is the first MTYP Middle School Camp, staged entirely by Middle School students, and features the musical theatre talents of some of the most experienced young performers in the area.  MTYP Executive Director Cary Danielson-Pandzik will direct. The production staff features Broadway veterans (and MTYP Alumni) Michael Eisenberg as Sound Designer and Julie Danielson as Music Director. Details on the performances are at www.mtyp.org.

"13" is about a young man, Evan Goldman, who has deal with his parents' upcoming divorce, and his looming, all-important Bar Mitzvah. His mother then informs him he will be moving with her from New York City to Appleton, Indiana; a flat, brown, Midwestern town. Evan will have to have his Bar Mitzvah and celebration there, away from all his friends and family. Songs include "Becoming a Man," "The Lamest Place in the World," "Good Enough," and "Being a Geek."
