Vinson Cole review by Gayle Hathorne

Internationally acclaimed opera great and Kansas City original Vinson Cole was received with enthusiasm at his alma mater on Saturday night in what turned out to be a double treat. Cole delivered a riveting performance in his recital for the Signature Series at UMKC's White Hall. And the dean of the Conservatory Peter Witte seized the moment to announce that Cole, whose career has included singing with the greatest conductors and opera houses in the world, has been awarded a tenured professorship in voice at the Conservatory. It is a move that bodes well for the future of vocal music and education in Kansas City.
