Scott, a native of Topeka who has appeared in eight Broadway shows, earned a couple of Tony nominations in 2010 by playing a character named Sherie Rene Scott in “Everyday Rapture,” a musical she wrote with Dick Scanlan. The show tells the story of a girl from Kansas who was raised a Mennonite but who moves to New York and makes a mark in Broadway theater.
