In case you were wondering, there absolutely will be a Shakespeare Festival this year. A little more than a year ago, officials of the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival were telling the public that if the nonprofit organization couldn’t raise $100,000 in short order, they would have to cancel the festival for the first time in its history. At the time, officials said the public plea was necessary to keep the festival debt-free.
