Foundry founder Stephen Collins interview with the Charlotte Street Foundation

Artist, Stephen Collins, began showing art exhibits in his Hyde Park home in the late 1970's. He later collaborated with Michael Stephens' A.R.C. Gallery, The Left Bank Gallery, and The Foundry. Collins joined forces with The Foundry owners/artists Jeff Dawson and Scott Childers in 1991. The Foundry, located on Southwest Boulevard, hosted music and theater performances along with visual art exhibits. Unfortunately, The Foundry was destroyed in a 1993 flood. Collins would later pioneer into the East Crossroads and open The Next Space Gallery on E.18th Street. For the last two decades The Next Space has operated as an independent arts space showcasing young emerging artists exhibits and original plays.
