Barn Players "Xanadu" review by BRN2ACT33

Xanadu Great Campy Fun
Rating: 5

Xanadu
The Barn Players, Inc.

The Barn Player's current production of "Xanadu" is great campy fun at its finest. What an enormously talented cast. Whitney Armstrong as Kira and Brian Shortess as Sonny were incredible and headed up an amazing cast. While everyone, and I mean everyone, in the cast had their moments to shine and shine they did, I was particularly taken by Tracy Van Unen as Calliope and Kristen Altoro as Melpomene. Guy Gardner has done an incredible job, both as director and choreographer, bringing Xanadu to the stage.

Musical directors MacKenzie Zielke and James Levy deserve high praises for getting every ounce of vocal performance out of this cast. Thanks to the creative set design by Bill Wright and Guy Gardner supported by scenic designers Tisha Entwistle and Melony Wood, the production moved smoothly and looked great.

And having an entire cast that can sing, dance (did I mention how awesome the choreography was - well it was!!), act AND skate. Unbelievable. The Barn can be very proud of their efforts. If you haven't seen the show yet, do yourself a big favor and go see "Xanadu". You are in for a real treat!
