Between the Two of Us explores the process of learning to communicate that couples must overcome in order to gain the acceptance of each other needed to move onto more intimate levels of their relationships. When his long-time girlfriend Sadie asks Max to move in with her, he is forced to acknowledge the feelings of curiosity he's had for guys -- and the fact that he's acted on those feelings.
