What Makes Kansas City's Arts Community Great?

Two of our area’s most renowned musical institutions, UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance and Park University’s International Center for Music, are the next focus of our year-long series “What Makes Kansas City’s Arts Community Great.” Since 1906, the Conservatory has earned national and international recognition through its music and dance performance, composition, teaching and scholarship. Helping to launch the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Ballet, the Lyric Opera, and the Kansas City Chorale, the Conservatory has been integral in shaping our current arts community. Park University’s International Center for Music has been shaping Kansas City’s global presence since 2003. Established to foster the exchange of master teacher/performers and renowned young musicians from countries across the world, Park’s mission is to provide the highest caliber education to emerging musicians at the Graduate, Undergraduate, and Youth levels.

Please join us to meet the Conservatory's Dean Peter Witte and Park’s Assistant Dean Dr. Kenneth Christopher to learn more about these exemplary institutions. Visit www.CentralExchange.org to register online or call 816-471-7560.
