Speaker to discuss federal arts policy and funding

Jonathan Katz, executive director of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies in Washington, D.C., and former executive director of the Kansas Arts Commission, will present Support for the Arts: Values, Issues and Trends on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, 3:30-5:00 pm, at the Dillon House, 404 SW 9th Street, Topeka.

Sponsored by the Kansas Arts Commission, Katz's talk will address arts policies of the Obama administration, the current status of the National Endowment for the Arts, the federal funding agency, and issues facing arts organizations throughout the country, especially during the current economic downturn.

The talk is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. The Kansas Arts Commission invites artists, staff and board of arts and cultural organizations, elected officials and the general public to attend.
