"Pride and Joy" review by Robert Trussell

Paul Rudnick is a very funny guy whose expertise with one-liners puts him in the same league with meat-and-potatoes Neil Simon and grandiloquent Tony Kushner. But Rudnick has carved out a special niche for himself. He has a taste for the absurd and writes with a rhythmic precision that often plays like elevated sitcom dialogue. Serious intent occasionally reveals itself but never enough to interfere with the laughs.
