The best set design is done by artists able to think outside the box — literally. Breaking through the tired old stage setup, a three-walled — the invisible "fourth wall" implied — room with a door, there are engaging possibilities that far surpass these traditional dimensions. Stephens College Assistant Professor and Resident Scenic Designer Ryan Zirngibl didn't always know he wanted to be a scenic artist, but once the discovery was made, he didn't look back.
