Kansas Arts Commission battle continues

Kansas is poised to become the first state in the nation to eliminate all state funding for arts programs. In the face of a half-billion dollar budget deficit, Governor Sam Brownback has been trying to eliminate the Kansas Arts Commission. He says the decision will save money and shrink the role of state government. Supporters of the Arts Commission argue that the agency provides jobs and arts opportunities in rural areas.
