Sometimes all it takes is an outsider's perspective to help us appreciate what has been in front of our faces all along. Classically trained players all, Portland Cello Project has cast itself in the role of a musical guide, taking a form — hip-hop — that would seem foreign and foreboding to most string aficionados and making it quite palatable.
