Eyes Wide Open Theatre history by Patrick Alexander

Kansas City actors Lisa and Scott Cordes’ theatre was born in the young couple’s midtown KC living room “with a word, a gesture, an argument, and a smile.”  The underground nomadic troupe showcased original political and social pieces that were being ignored by the majority. Issues addressed included the AIDS epidemic, NEA arts funding, and human rights (pieces were typically written by Lisa, directed by Scott, with technical, stage, and musical support from a number of KC artists.)
