Show-Me Opera "La Cenerentola" preview by Jill Renae Hicks

As curtains rise on theater productions this weekend, one staging, in particular, is distinctive — it is not only a play but also an entire song. The University of Missouri's Show-Me Opera will bring its annual production to the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts, featuring MU students in principal singing and acting roles. Last year's tale was "The Merry Widow," and this year ushers in an operatic retelling of the much-adapted fairy tale "Cinderella": Gioachino Rossini's "La Cenerentola."
