How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
The Barn Players, Inc.
I saw the show on Sunday. I thoroughly enjoyed the show including the dancing, songs and set. All of the actors were mostly spot on. Erin Coleman's voice is almost angelic. Adam McAdoo did a fine job however his pitch was a little off key in a couple of songs but mostly enjoyable. His puckish portrayal of Finch was respectable. Dennis Maddux played Bratt effortlessly as well as Michael Nemeth in his comedic portrayal of J.B. Biggley. Alisha Garnier was sometimes a little over the top in her portrayal of Hedi Lamar. But she played well with Biggley when they sang their duet. Boy, can she hold a note.
I think "Brotherhood of Man" was my favorite scene. All of the men were in stride and seemed to be enjoying what they were doing. "Coffee Break" was fun and "Groundhog" was hilarious. Seeing Finch and Biggley doing their shtick was very funny.
The sets were fantastic and the movement between scenes was seamless. The orchestra was in need of a little tuning but managed to find their stride deeper into the performance. Although the show is rather long, it did not feel like that due to the energy and pace of the cast. The audience on Sunday was small but very appreciative of the fine talent presented to them. I recommend this show to anyone interested in having an enjoyable experience at the Barn Players. Don't miss this one.
