Keyboard player needed for KC Fringe show

If you play piano or keyboard, CrossCurrents could use your help. They are putting together a live theater comedy for the KC Fringe Festival entitled How the West Was Warped. The cast of actors include Rockabilly Mood Swing host Lynne G (aka Lurlene the Trailer Court Queen) and Eclectics host Rebecca Roche and about a dozen others. This show is done for laughs and as a fundraiser for KKFI. The show is less than one hour long. The keyboard player is needed to play one opening and one closing number, plus some easy filler material during set changes. The performances will be at the Off Center Stage in Crown Center.

The keyboard player must be available on the following performance dates:
  • Friday, July 22, 8pm
  • Sunday, July 24, 2pm
  • Tuesday, July 26, 8pm
  • Friday, July 29, 6:30pm
  • Saturday, July 30, 8pm
In addition there will be some rehearsal times, of course. Rehearsal times are flexible, but they prefer Sunday afternoon rehearsals for the music.

Reading music a plus, but not required. Most of the music is easy three or four chord songs. The only difficult song will be a parody of Ya Got Trouble from The Music Man. A tutor is lined up for those who play keyboard but don't read music.

No pay is involved but you can earn volunteer hours, have a lot of laughs, participate in the KC Fringe, and earn the sincere gratitude of the KKFI Staff.
